to check whether an indicator switch has been pressed.
If neither switch is pressed, the program follows the 'No' route and loops back to the beginning,
When a switch is pressed, the program goes follows the 'Yes' route through the flowchart, causing the indicator to light for a short time, and then turn off for a short time. These times are set by the delays. As long as the switch is pressed, this process repeats, causing the indicator to flash on and off
